Jennifer Elaine Mohammadian-Khansary (Jenny)Jenny
Jenny was born in Derby and grew up in Long Eaton. She attended Highfields Infant School, followed by Wilsthorpe Comprehensive School. She excelled at school and gained many friends. She then went on to work for the HMRC. While working, Jenny started a family by marrying her late husband Gholam and having two children, Rubyna and Pejmon. Jenny was loved by everyone she met and captivated people with her easy-going attitude to life with her fun, fast and constantly positive energy.
Throughout the whole of her life, Jenny came on holiday to North Devon. Originally with her Mum, Dad and Sister, this turned into a tradition of bringing her own family. Jenny then committed to buying a Caravan on North Morte Farm where she spent the last dozen years, socially integrating herself into local communities and spending the majority of her time, in the place she loved most.
She will be forever missed by her family, friends from the Midlands, school, work, the Iranian community, the Churches and Devon. All of which have contributed to this Bench out of the appreciation of the impact that Jenny had, and will continue to have, on their lives. This was Jenny’s favourite place to be, in her words, her ‘Happy Place’.
The story of Jennifer Elaine Mohammadian-Khansary (Jenny)Jenny
After leaving the school 6th form, Jenny wanted to join the Royal Air Force but her eyesight let her down. She joined the Inland Revenue until she decided what to do. She ended up working there for 42 years!
Jenny became a Cub Leader in her youth (nicknamed Beastie) with Janet, Suzanne, Angela and Jonathon. She enjoyed all of the Cub Camps and adventures. Jenny went to the local youth club run by David, Janet, Paul, Pam and others, at the local Church. Youth club camps in Ashover, Derbyshire, were always such fun, especially the play on the last day!
Jenny holidayed in Woolacombe & Mortehoe with her Dad Ted, Mum Joyce and Big Sister Carol since the 1960’s. She then introduced her own family, Husband Gholam Reza Mohammadian-Khansary, Daughter Rubyna and Son Pejmon to the delights of North Devon. Over the years, Jenny enjoyed introducing Woolacombe/Morthoe to her friends & Iranians from Nottingham.
After meeting Gholam (in her early 20’s), who owned the local Fish & Chip shop in Long Eaton, Jenny became an integral member of the Iranian Community in Nottingham. She had been part of the formation of this community alongside Gholam & friends. This community became a huge part of her life with friends becoming family over the years. We had barbeques, celebrated Birthdays and Iranian traditions and spent a lot of time around each other’s houses, restaurants and parks. Jenny was central to the fun and the kids always loved her games and 110% fast-paced enthusiasm and cheerfulness.
Jenny was an outgoing independent woman, who, after her husband died in 2010, ensured that the children continued to have a fulfilled life and encouraged them to be happy. At this point in her life, soon after 2010, she was offered a static caravan at North Morte Farm Caravan & Camping Park. This was an easy decision to make as she had longed to own a holiday home in Morthoe. It was there that she continued to make more close friends. These were known as the caravan friends. There are too many to name but they know who they are. Jenny attended the church service at St Mary’s Mortehoe. This led her to attending the Sunday service at St Matthew’s in Lee. Jenny became a valued member of the Lee Village community. She would join the meetings at the Grampus on Saturday lunchtime. She also, helped with the Harvest festival and joined the Women’s Institute.
Over the past few years, Jenny was extremely proud of her family, and loved to tell her friends about her children Rubyna & Pejmon and what they were getting up to all over the world. She would drive her Black Mercedes (fast) all over the country, having fun and visiting friends as she pleased.
Unfortunately, Jenny had an unpredictable ruptured brain aneurysm and stroke. After a short, but painless battle, she passed away surrounded by her closest friends and family. Jenny’s ashes were spread by family at North Morte Point next to the sea.
We love her and miss her and we will be grateful for the memories and the impact she had on us. Hopefully you enjoy sitting here and appreciating this part of the world, just as she did. Lots of Love, from Family & Friends x
